Dog Walking/Pet Sitting FAQs

  • I have a dog that is extremely strong and pulls a lot. Are you able to walk him for me?
The physical safety of your pet and myself is top priority. Due to a herniated disc in my back, I am best suited to care for cats, small dogs/animals and senior pets. I do not walk dogs that pull exessively. If your dog pulls excessively (at arm’s length where I have to bear down in order to not be pulled forward) then I may decline walking your dog. Please do not take it personally if I cannot walk your dog. Because my job is very physical, it is imperative that I do not put myself in a situation where I hurt myself or lose control of your pet.
  • I want it to appear that someone is home when I go out of town, can you help me with that?
Yes! I can bring in mail and newspapers, alternate light, water plants, etc. Please request these duties during the consultation.
  • How will I know that you came by each day to care for me pet(s)?
For daily dog walking clients, I will leave a handwritten note detailing the day’s walk. For pet sitting clients that are out of town, I will communicate updates with you as requested. I can call, email or text updates and pictures. I will also leave a handwritten note on the last day of your trip.
  • How do I know you will remember to show up for the trip I scheduled several weeks ago?
I send an email confirmation approximately one week before your scheduled dates. It will include the requested service dates and total cost.
  • What time will you be doing my pet's visits?
For daily dog walking clients, I ask the client for a 3 hour time window since our busiest time of day is 10:00-3:00. I always arrive within the 3 hour window. For pet sitting clients, I ask for a 2 hour time window. Example: 7:00-9:00 am. PeeWee's is open from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm every day.
  • Will my dog get walked if its raining, snowing or extremely hot out?
Yes and no.  Your dog will be walked unless it is pouring rain/snow or heat exceeds 85 degrees. I take extreme weather into consideration on a case by case basis. Some dogs actually like walking in the rain. In that case, I may ask where you keep the towels for drying off after our walk. If your dog does not like walking in the rain or shows signs of heat distress, the walk will be cut down to a potty break but the VISIT LENGTH will remain the same. I will spend the remainder of the visit playing/petting indoors.
  • What type of payments do you accept?
I accept cash, check or PayPal/Venmo payments.
  • When is payment due?
For weekly dog walking clients, payment is due at the end of each week. For pet sitting clients, payment is due on or before the first scheduled pet sit visit.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
I do not charge cancellation fees, for your convenience.  Please be considerate and give as much notice as possible when cancelling.  If I drive to your home and discover the visit was not needed, you will be charged $20.  Example: client forgets to notify me of cancellation because they stayed home from work or pet is not at home that day but I made the trip over.
